About our WHS Dance Program

The Whitnall Varsity Dance Program offers two exciting teams: the Game Day Team and the Competition Team. Both teams that focus on leadership, school spirit, teamwork, and athleticism, providing dancers with opportunities to grow, perform, and compete at high levels.

Game Day Team:

The Game Day Team brings school spirit to life by performing at football, basketball, and soccer games, pep rallies, and Homecoming events. This team focuses on high-energy performances and crowd interaction, creating unforgettable experiences for both dancers and fans.

Key Events:

• UDA Dance Camp: July 7-10, 2025
• Friends & Family Picnic and Showcase: A fall event to celebrate the team’s summer accomplishments.
• Homecoming Week: Pep Rally, Parade, and Varsity Football Game Halftime Performance 
• Football, Basketball & Soccer Game performances
• Fundraising and Volunteering Events: Car Washes, Brat Sales, Concessions, SuperFan Shirt Sales, Holiday Performance at Local Nursing Home, and more!

Competition Team:

The Competition Team competes in Pom, Jazz, and Hip-Hop, with a focus on technique, conditioning, and performance excellence. Dancers on this team train year-round to compete at local, regional, and national competitions.

1. ✅ REGISTER on the Athletic Registration page on the WHS website.
2. 🩺 TURN-IN a current completed and signed medical eligibility exam form signed by a doctor and parent. This needs to be uploaded during online registration in order to start practices.
3. 📅 Please be sure to attend our Varsity Tryout Clinic: May 27th & 28th, 2025 and our Final Tryout: May 29th-31st, 2025
4. 💵 PAY Athletic fee in Infinite Campus prior to participation ($100 per sport / $150 for football).
