Whitnall is currently in transition from iPads to Chromebook 1:1. Starting in the 19-20 school year, grades 6-12 will be using Chromebook laptops while the elementary will continue to be a mix of iPad and Chromebooks.

Elementary: Academic classrooms have iPad learning center consisting of 5 iPads
Middle: Each student (grade 6-8) issued iPad Mini learning in a 1:1 environment. All Middle School teacher provided iPad for teaching purposes and participate in technology integration professional development. Students begin the school year engaging in an ‘iPad Academy’ learning how to use the iPad, access apps and online resources, as well as digital citizenship lessons.

Elementary: Academic classrooms have iPad learning center consisting of 11 iPads and Resource rooms have 3 iPads. 25 Chromebooks in a cart are provided to elementary schools predominately used by fifth grade.
Middle: Each student (grade 6-8) issued iPad Mini learning in a 1:1 environment. Students begin the school year engaging in an ‘iPad Academy’ learning how to use the iPad, access apps and online resources, as well as digital citizenship lessons. 2nd Semester begins the Middle school transition from iPad to Chromebook starting with 6th grade.
High: Each student (grade 9-12) issued iPad Mini learning in a 1:1 environment. 2nd Semester begins the High School transition from iPad to Chromebook beginning with a 9th-grade pilot and then the entire 9th grade.
2018-2019
Elementary: Academic classrooms have iPad learning center consisting of 11 iPads and Resource rooms have 3 iPads. 2nd cart of 25 Chromebooks is provided to elementary schools predominately used by fifth grade.
Middle: 6th and 7th grade 1:1 Chromebooks, 8th grade continues with iPad. Classroom set of iPads available on a cart for teachers to check out for classroom use.
High: 9th, 10th, and 11th grade 1:1 Chromebook. 12th grade has the option of continuing to use the school-issued iPad or use their own personal device (laptop or tablet). Classroom set of iPads available on a cart for teachers to check out for classroom use.
2019-2020
Elementary: (K-4) Academic classrooms have iPad learning center consisting of 11 iPads and Resource rooms have 3 iPads. 5th-grade students issued Chromebook learning in a 1:1 environment. Elementary Chromebooks remain at school and are not taken home.
Middle: All students 6-8 issued Chromebook learning in a 1:1 environment. Classroom set of iPads available on a cart for teachers to check out for classroom use.
