A Chromebook is a web-based laptop that accesses all applications through the internet. Unlike a Mac or PC laptop, applications are not directly installed on the device but are accessed through web tools such as Google Mail, Docs, Drive, etc. While an Internet connection is required, specific files can be made to be available 'offline' to be accessed when WiFi is not available.
To increase the functionality of the Chromebook browser, Chrome Extensions can be added by students from a pre-approved list of extensions. Students do not need permission to add an extension or remove an extension. Follow the link below to view the list of approved Chrome extensions.

Chrome Extensions
Students who are not using a Chromebook can still use Chrome extensions if they have access to the Chrome browser (Mac or PC). Chrome extensions are not available for iPad tablets.
