WI CHILD FIND
As part of Wisconsin’s Child Find requirement, Whitnall School District is responsible for locating children who are not yet school-age and evaluating them for possible disabilities. Child Find activities extend to all children attending public and private schools within the Whitnall School District boundaries, as well as children who are homeless. To meet this requirement, we host Child Development Day and invite any children who are 3 years old to participate in our screening. The screening is conducted in order to identify children with potential developmental delays (such as speech, social-emotional/behavioral, learning, etc.), in order to provide early interventions. Participation in the screening is free and voluntary.
Questions regarding Child Find or Whitnall’s Child Development Day can be emailed to Jackie Winter, Director of Pupil Services.
