Student Growth, Achievement, and Readiness:  Engage students as active participants in quality learning experiences to prepare students for all opportunities both within the Whitnall School District and beyond graduation.  

Priority Areas:  Academic Achievement, Non-cognitive skills,
Strategies:  Personalizing Learning, Instructional Strategies, Redefining Ready

1. By the end of 2018-19, develop learner profiles for each learner and ensure at least 50% of learner profiles are being accessed as evidenced by classroom visits, learner products, and access logs to advocate and customize learning.  (Learner Agency)

2. By the end of  2018-19, develop a multi-year social emotional learning action plan that promotes a multi-tiered systems of services by collaborating with schools, families, and communities to ensure that every student develops noncognitive skills as measured by plan completion and results of the Developmental Assets Survey. (Social Emotional Learning)

3. By the end of the 2018-19 school year,develop a multi-year literacy action plan to ensure student growth in literacy across the district so that all instructional staff across content areas and grade levels will consistently incorporate literacy strategies in reading and writing as measured by plan completion and student achievement data. (Literacy)

Operations Management and Resource Stewardship:  Provide sustainable solutions to meet district needs through long-term planning and innovative approaches.

4. By the end of the 2018-2019 fiscal year, update our 10-Year Facility Plan that is future-focused and aligned to the needs of the Whitnall community in order to implement an innovative financial strategy to best fund the projects. (Facilities, School Safety, Finance)

5. By March 2019, create and implement a strategic hiring process that aligns to the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Whitnall School District in order to acquire the most talented individuals with the proper skill sets necessary to meet the needs of Whitnall learners as evidenced by summative evaluations and culture surveys. (Human Resources, Culture)

6. By January 2019, develop and implement two-way communication modes for students, parents, staff, and community members to receive and provide information and feedback in order to give stakeholders a voice in district decisions as measured by engagement in event and crowdsourcing activities.(Communication, Culture)

7. By the end of 2018-19, enhance the Whitnall Academic and Career Plan and  add an external partnership opportunity at each grade level as evidenced by plan completion and execution of partnership events at two grade levels. (Partnerships, ACP)

8. By the end of the 2018-19, finalize strategic plan documents to include an annual review so that core values can be embedded into operational practices  as measured by annual review of strategic plan and changes in practices. (Communication, Culture)
