A Progressive Form of Discipline
Our system of progressive discipline uses several degrees of consequence. The P.A.G.E. Program assigns a student consequences and points based on the infraction. The student's point value will determine their discipline level (level 1 - 4).
As a student moves from level to level, the disciplinary action taken by the school becomes more severe and the restrictions on the student become tighter.
The WMS Discipline Program provides for both forward and backward movement through the levels. When determining a discipline level, the school only takes into account the student's discipline record for the last 10 school days. Forward movement occurs as a student receives infractions for inappropriate behaviors. Backward movement occurs when the student's behavior improves and the student does not receive infractions.
Time is the mechanism for moving back to lower levels and a less restrictive school environment. No matter how much trouble a student may get into, there is always a way to work back up to Discipline Level 1. Each day is a new day, and the Discipline Level is recalculated. Problems that occurred more that 10 days ago do not affect the calculation.
