Course Description
This course will be an assigned elective for students who HAVE NOT successfully completed the Whitnall School District technology competency test or 8th graders new to the district.
7th Grade
This course teaches content related to mastery of the Wisconsin Model Information Media Standards. Students will explore and develop ways to effectively access and organize information gathered in the global digital information filled world in which they live. Students will expand their skills through direct instruction in keyboarding, word processing, spread sheets, and web-based research of information. These skills are tied directly to student content area projects each quarter to further integrate skills. Successful completion of this class meets requirements for competencies under No Child Left Behind. Students must successfully complete the Whitnall School District technology competency tests.
Mission Statement
We live in an information rich world. Students need tools that allow them to effectively access information, and organize facts and events in order to make links and relationships. A strong technology foundation will give students the skills that are necessary to be productive in the global, digital, and information filled world in which they live.
