Summer Homework, 2008

Honors English 9 students:
All of you will be reading The Grapes of Wrath for which you will write a 500 word essay and take a 30-40 question objective test when you return to school in fall. The second novel, a choice of Brave New World, Dracula, or Uglies, will be used for a group project during the first week of school. See the documents above.

Honors English 10 students:
You will be reading two books and writing one essay, due July 11. A test will be given on the second novel when you return in fall. See the document above.

Honors American Lit/Grammar Comp students:
You are to read three novels. Read them critically and use your analytical skills to digest each of the works. Investigate the writer’s technique and depiction of characters. See the document above. A test will be given on the day first full day of classes next fall.

Sophomores: 5 paragraph essay on Night due in the high school office at 10:00 AM.

August 8, 2008

Freshmen: 500 word Grapes of Wrath essay and Review Sheet for Lit Works due in the high school office at 10:00 AM.

September 2, 2008

Freshmen: Review sheet for either Brave New World, Dracula, or Uglies is due at the beginning of class. Project will be assigned at this time.

September 3, 2008

Freshmen: Test on The Grapes of Wrath.

Sophomores: Test on To Kill a Mockingbird.

Juniors: Test on My Antonia, The Jungle, and Uncle Tom's Cabin.
