English Language Learners


The Whitnall School District offers an English as a Second Language (ESL) and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) provisions for students in need of these services. The goal of the District's ESL/LEP services is to provide quality educational services to all students. To accomplish this goal, the district's provides instructional plans for identified students whose dominant language is not English. The ESL staff works closely with the Administration and classroom teachers to assist students in increasing their English proficiency. All students are integrated with their peers except when it is necessary to pull them out of class to provide specific services. All English Language Learner students are welcomed and encouraged to be involved in extra-curricular and other related programs.
