PURPOSE OF FCA Whitnall

FCA is a nationally recognized organization and has been serving communities for over 50 years.  FCA is for any student who desires to understand what it means to have faith and then to encourage them to seek to grow in their faith.  The goal of this organization is to encourage students to realize that the lifechanging power of Jesus Christ is available to change their lives.  The subjects are geared towards those involved in Athletics. 

 As athletes, they are in a special place where they know it takes hard work to achieve their goals.   It is FCA's intent to encourage these students to seek to grow and mature in their faith so they can establish a firm foundation to be a leader, a good friend, or to know how to get through tough times.

We meet twice a month, usually the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month.  These meetings are called "huddles" and are held in the Whitnall High School Library from 6:00 to 8:00pm.  We usually watch a DVD  or hear a speaker with a subject related to a life lesson, have a discussion, and end with playing a game or a sport-usually dodgeball.  Students are given the opportunity to let their views be known and talk about them.

Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in America. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.
