Sign-Up Information

  1. Announcements will be made about sign up procedures for all clubs and activities. Clubs and activities begin at different times during the first quarter of the school year.
  2. Tryouts and selection for the Pom Pon and Cheerleading squads will be held in the spring each year.
  3. Students interested in participating in a fall, winter, spring and/ or summer sport should contact the athletic department.
  4. The Athletic Department sponsors preseason meetings prior to the start of fall, winter, spring and summer baseball season. Students can register for a particular sport during those meetings.
  5. Freshman class officers will be elected during the first three weeks of school. Listen to daily announcements for full details.
  6. Per School Board Policy, certain clubs/ activities are charged an activity fee.

Mission Statement of Whitnall High School's Extracurricular Program

Participation in extracurricular activities is an integral part of the total educational program in the Whitnall School District.  The extracurricular program prescribes a value system for all who participate in it, including individual students, the student body, others associated with the program and all who attend the events as spectators.

It is the goal of the Whitnall School District to offer an extracurricular program that provides each student with the opportunity to develop proper skills, good sportsmanship, good health habits, teamwork, self-reliance, respect, maturity, and an ability to cope with and profit from both winning and losing.  The entire program strives to provide students, faculty and the community with a source of identification and pride in their schools.

Participation in extracurricular activities is a privilege; therefore, every student must be willing to abide by the expectations set forth in each program.  Participants are constantly before the public, and their conduct  not only influences future participants but also increases scrutiny of their behavior.
