2008-2009 Results

State Meet in Madison

April 17, 2009

The 2009 Forensics Season ended this past Friday with outstanding results. 

Earning four Bronze Medals were:

  • the play acting group of Anchal, Rachel Nasby, and Chloe Higgins
  • Amy Regner in Oratory

Earning eight Silver Medals were:

  • Orators Andrew Szulakski and Melinda Daniels
  • Kate Bauer in Farrago
  • Emily Byzewski and Emma Lenar in Poetry
  • Zak Stella in Prose
  • and the Play Acting of Emily Mongan and George

And earning perfect scores and bringing home seven Gold Medals were:

  • Allison Tutkowski in 4 Minute
  • Lindsay Nolder in Radio
  • Samantha Zacher in Farrago
  • Sarah Regner in Prose
  • and the Group Interpretation team of Andy Krawczyk, Sara Lawton, and Samantha Betlej

Congratulations to a fantastic group!  You have a lot to be proud about!


 

Conference Meet at Greendale High School

April 7, 2009

The Forensics team did an outstanding job at the Conference Forensics Meet. 

Winning 3rd place Bronze medals were:
·       Alicia Zuchowski in Radio
·       Kate Bauer in Farrago
·       and the Group Interpretation Team of Andy Krawczyk, Sara Lawton, and Sam Betlej
 Winning 2nd place Silver medals were:
·       Shelby Latona in Solo Serious
·       and Lydia Pincsak in Special Occasion
 Winning first place Gold medals and the title of Conference Champions were:
·       Samantha Zacher in Farrago
·       and the Group Interpretation Team of Danika Johnson, Brittney Kenaston, Darcy McGlinn, and Katy Singer
 
The team as a whole placed 3rd in the Conference.    Congratulations, Team!
 
And a special THANK YOU to Mrs. Burgad, Mrs. Clark, and Mrs. Voelkel for judging for the team this season.  You are appreciated!

 

96.4% of the members of the 2008-2009 Whitnall Forensics Team are on their way to State!

The team represented Whitnall well, earning scores of 19 - 25 points in three rounds of competition.  Two scores of 20 or better were necessary to advance to the State Competition of Friday, April 17.

A perfect score of 75 points was earned by the freshmen Group Interpretation Team of Danika Johnson, Brittney Kenaston, Darcy McGlinn, and Katy Singer.  They were one of four contestants at the entire contest of 300 entries to earn a perfect score. Congratulations once again to the Soft Rains team for proving that "practice makes perfect"!

Earning a perfect score in two rounds was Emily Byzewski in Poetry, and one perfect score was earned by Andy Krawczyk, Samantha Betlej, and Sara Lawton in Group Interpretation and Melinda Daniels in Oratory.

The team will next compete at the Conference Meet on Tuesday, April 7, in Greendale.


 

Sub-District, February 24, 2009

All members of the Forensics team who competed in the Sub-District competition on Tuesday, February 24, advanced to the District level competition which will be held on March 21, at Oak Creek High School.

Congratulations, everyone!  You make your coach proud!


 

Waterford Valentine's Day Tournament

The twenty-three member Forensics team placed 5th of 21 teams.

Special Awards:
Five of our 16 entries made it to Power Rounds.  They are:

  • Liza Pincsak, medalist, placing 5th of 18, in the category of Farrago
  • Zak Stella, medalist, placing 6th of 34, in the category of Prose
  • Shelby Latona, medalist, placing 5th of 12, in the category of Solo Serious
  • the "Harrison Bergeron" Group Interpretation team of Sam Betlej, Andy Krawczak, and Sara Lawton, medalists, placing 4th of 7 entries
  • the "There Will Come Soft Rains" Group Interpretation team of Danika Johnson, Brittney Kenaston, Darcy McGlinn, and Katy Singer, Second Place Trophy winners, placing 2nd of 7 entries

 

Westosha 'Good Ol' Fashioned' Tournament

The eighteen member Forensics Team placed 13 of 21 teams.

Special Awards:
Three of our 14 entries made it to the Power Rounds. They are:

  • Lindsay Nolder, medalist, placing 7th of 15 enties in the category of Radio
  • the "Harrison Bergeron" group interpretation team of Zak Stella, Sam Betlej, and Sara Lawton, medalists, placing 4th of 8 entries
  • Lydia Pincsak, First Place Trophy winner, placing 1st of 7 entries in the category of Special Occasion 

Mukwonago Forensics Festival

Saturday, January 31

The twenty-two student team brought home

  • one white ribbon
  • three red ribbons
  • thirteen blue ribbons

earned gold medals for scoring more than 70 out of 75 points.
