Whitnall High School varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders function as school leaders to promote school spirit. They do this through organizing homecoming dances, pep rallies, and cheering at all football, basketball games, and wrestling matches. Additionally, the cheerleaders decorate our school with locker signs and promote an overall team and school spirit essential to Whitnall High School.
Cheerleading requires motivation, dedication, physical endurance, and enthusiasm. It requires girls who are willing to commit a great deal of time and work. The cheerleading season runs from fall all the way into March. It is a sport that offers school involvement, responsibility, and also a great deal of fun.
Tryouts are held in the spring. Cheerleaders must attend summer camp . There are a minimum of two practices per week plus one game to cheer at.
