Falcon Drum Line Information
The Falcon Drum Line is a select group of Whitnall High School students who rehearse and perform on percussion and electronic instruments. The Falcon Drum Line, which now includes the Whitnall Winterguard, will perform at Whitnall High School and community events, competitions in the Minnesota Percussion Association Circuit, and (potentially) a home show. Falcon Drum Line members are expected to be at all rehearsals, competitions, and performances.
It will cost 250.00 to be in the Falcon Drum Line. This is SIGNIFICANTLY less than in the past. 50 dollars goes to the Whitnall High School activity participation fee that all students who participate in school activities are required to pay. The remaining 200 dollars supplements school funding for transportation, staffing, equipment, food, and registration.
1st payment – 50 dollars due December 1st (make check to Whitnall School District)
2nd payment – 100 dollars due December 22nd (payable to Whitnall Band Boosters)
3rd payment – 100 dollars due January 26th (payable to Whitnall Band Boosters)
Since there is not a drum line circuit in Wisconsin, the Falcon Drum Line will travel to the Twin Cities metro area in Minnesota on four weekends for competitions. The dates of these competitions:
With the integration of the winter guard into the winter drumline the
rehearsal schedule has changed for the 6 or 7 girls doing the guard.
Rehearsals for them will be M and W nights from 6 * 9 PM in the
auxiliary (wrestling gym).
This allows the guard to rehearse at the same time as the drumline.
Chad has kept the Sunday practice option to have as needed for the guard.
The drumline rehearsal schedule has not changed.
Just a reminder that the Christmas Camp is on December 29th from 8 - 5,
December 30 from 8 - 5 and Jan 2 from 9 - 3.
The Christmas Camp is a crucial time because most of the show will be put
together between the four sections of the Falcon Drumline
(Battery, Pit, Rack/Electronic, Guard) and the floor will be put together and
painted!
