3D: Dream, Dare, Discover...

is the name used to identify gifted and talented programming services in the Whitnall District.  The 3D programming plan for grades K-12 was adopted as a pilot by the Whitnall School Board in 1996 and extended in the subsequent school years.

Philosophy

The Whitnall School District is committed to identifying and meeting the needs of Gifted and Talented students in one or more of the following areas:

  • General Intellectual
  • Specific Academic
  • Creativity
  • Leadership
  • The Arts (Visual, Musical, Performing)

3D programming recognizes that the needs of Gifted and Talented students may differ from the norm.  We strive to meet those unique needs through flexible and varied educational experiences developing individual talents, critical and creative thinking abilities, and independent learning skills.  These are offered at appropriate levels of complexity, within an accepting environment, maximizing the student's potential to contribute to society.
